With new laws coming about that mandates individuals working in chiropractic offices (and others) to report any form of fraud many chiropractic agencies are making an official stance against fraud. It’s nothing new, but it is becoming very public.
Recently the California Chiropractic Association issued an official statement concerning fraud and the recent arrest in San Gabriel Valley. Here is a copy of the official statement.
“The California Chiropractic Association condemns any form of illegal or unethical activity, such as the alleged fraudulent billing case reported today in the San Gabriel Valley. We strongly support the efforts of regulators and law enforcement to investigate reports of potentially illegal activities and to crack down on any and all perpetrators,†said Dr. John Bueler, president of the California Chiropractic Association. “Illegal and unethical activity by any player in the insurance system – whether it is an agent, attorney, consumer or health care provider – is simply wrong.â€
