The American Chiropractic Association and La-z Boy furniture have become business partners. According to an article on multiple sources La-Z boy will be introducing a marketing campaign that the ACA will endorse. La-Z Boy offers recliners with customizable options to help give needed comfort to back pain sufferers. Doug Collier, chief marketing officer for La-Z-Boy stated “We are proud to have the endorsement of the American Chiropractic Association, which represents the highest standard of quality in chiropractic care.”

KENTUCKY RELEASES SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATE
RECOGNIZING CHIROPRACTIC’S ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — If you live in Kentucky and are proud about the care

a new specialty license plate.

“The Go Green Go Chiropractic marketing initiative helps
Kentucky Chiropractors and patients unite in their efforts to spread

Chiropractic Association, Inc. said. “The license plate makes a statement

“The entire motivation behind getting a specialty plate like
this was to unite the Chiropractors in Kentucky around something
positive.” Jonathan Boggs, legal counsel for the Kentucky Chiropractic
Association, Inc.(the “KCA”) said. “We had some difficulty getting
the design approved because the Kentucky Transportation Department didn’t
understand how Chiropractic was ‘Green.’ That confusion shows just how
important a plate like this is: the public at large have no idea how unique
Chiropractic is and how our healthcare choices affect the world around
us.”
Sales of the plate benefit the Kentuckiana Children’s Center,
a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of Children
by providing a foundation for healing through integrative Chiropractic
care. Counselor Boggs noted, “The members of the KCA specifically chose
not to have any identifying marks on the plate, or to have the donations go
the the KCA because the plate isn’t just for our members, it is for all

Maintenance man hides video camera in chiropractic office

Portsmouth, NH, A maintenance man has plead guilty to hiding a camera in the massage room of the Seacoast Spine and Injury massage. The video camera was found when a chiropractor in the office was checking a malfunctioning cd player.

Richard Baldwin, 35, has been fined and given jail time. He will also go though sex offender evaluation.

California Board of Chiropractic Examiners Audit

The California Board of Chiropractic Examiners and California Highway Patrol are 2 state agencies that are being examined. The Sacramento Bee has been reporting irregularities in the agencies lately which may have sparked an interest.

The process should be completed in about 7 months and will focus on the boards “licensing and continuing education programs, with an emphasis on the oversight and discipline of the state’s 15,000 or so chiropractors.”

Chiropractic victory over Stephen Barrett

Long time critic of chiropractic and alternative medicine Stephen Barrett has been set back by a judge that refused to overturn a 2005 decision against Barrett. Barrett has appeared as an expert in front of the FDA, FTC and other governmental agencies, but it has been shown that her has mislead everyone about being a licensed physician.

“Under Negrete’s intense cross-examination, Barrett admitted that he had not been a licensed physician for more than a decade and had failed the neurological exam, preventing him from being certified as a specialist.”

Steve Willen Resigned from N.C. Board of Chiropractic Examiners

After the chiropractic scandal that has taken place over the past few months Steve Willen has resigned from his position on the N.C. Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The board oversees the regulates chiropractic care and chiropractors in North Carolina.

In 2002 House speaker in North Carolina Jim Black made a cash for vote deal with Rep. Michael Decker. The deal went down in a local IHOP. The cash for chiropractor friendly legislation from 3 of the areas chiropractors.

The chiropractors involved in the incident are not being prosecuted. The chiropractor’s cooperation help lead to a guilty plea by Black. Records indicate that these men have been donating to both republican and democrat politicians over the years.

The North Carolina Chiropractic Association (NCCA) has issued statements regarding the issue. They deny any knowledge or affiliation with the chiropractors in question.

Chiropractic Diabetes Research

The Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research has recently published an study done to investigate the effect of chiropractic care on a diabetes patient. The study was done on a patient who had been diagnosed by a medical doctor as having the disease.

Chiropractic adjustments along with nutrition and exercise showed significant improvement in the patients case. They reported after one month the patients blood glucose level was stable and insulin would no longer be necessary if the condition remained stable

More research is needed to help more fully understand the benefits of chiropractic adjustments.
